I am a huge fan of making soups. They are so good the day after they are made and are very practical to eat or to store away. This Split Pea Soup is one of my all time favorite soup recipes, if you are looking for a meal with some great nutrition that is not very expensive and difficult to make, this is the perfect one for you. You can easily make this part of your meal prep for weight loss and portion it out for the week in small tupperwares with a salad on the side or some pita bread. This is also a great to mix in with your dinner recipes for the whole family.

    1. I would say not anything crazy on the sodium because I only used 6 strips of uncured bacon and its not very salty. You could easily leave that out or use low sodium bacon. Also the Crabs I would say 40-50 grams per 10 oz bowl. The only ingredient that had any significant carbs in there is the peas, but they have a lot of fiber which would slow the conversion of the carbs to glucose.

  1. Now I have admit, I am not the biggest soup fan, BUT!! I must admit this looks delicious, yummy & warm and fuzzy. Sooooo I might be given this a try. This will work very well on these damp, wet & chilly spring days.
